Gregg Michaels hasn’t slowed down since TYR disbanded in 1990. In charge of technical support for Atlantic Recording Artists Vicious Rumors for three years and two World Tours, Gregg not only worked behind the scenes but also had several opportunities to appear onstage with the band, courtesy of VR guitarist Geoff Thorpe. In 1994 he moved back to the San Francisco Bay area and formed The Gator Alley Band, the West Coast’s premier Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, with former TYR guitarist Dana Birt. Throughout the 90’s Gator Alley was home to a wide variety of world class musicians – including Dave Hayes and Joel Valentine. From his home in the East Bay, Gregg and the current incarnation of The Gator Alley Band tours constantly, hammering out the triple guitar chops that carry on the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd. And Gregg still holds the record for the most kids 5, Rachel, David, Brandon, Jeffrey, Amanda.
