Joel Valentine has kept busy since TYR’s heyday. After joining Sacramento favorite Northrup to replace the departed Johnny Edwards, Joel was signed by Mike Varney to Shrapnel Records in the early 90’s where he recorded with Scream Parade. Following a move back to Iowa where he joined forces with Midwest favorite Straitjackit, he ended up back in the Santa Cruz area where he sang background vocals in Gregg Michaels’ Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute band, Gator Alley, eventually hooked up once again with Kevin St. James in Body Bag and Bonedance. A final move back to his Midwest roots in 1999 saw Joel embark on a successful ongoing theatre career, appearing in such diverse roles as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Motel Kamzol in Fiddler on the Roof, and Rum Tug Tugger in Cats. Joel will be appearing as a featured vocal artist with the renowned Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra for a series of dates in late 2006. He is married to Rebecca and has two children, Annie and Jagger.
